Genetic Testing - Document Based Question and Response

So far we have done short form blogging, but I'd like to introduce you to a longer format of writing on your blog.* Think of this as an essay assignment where I am asking you to read specific sources and analyze in response to a question/prompt.

Address the question below after reviewing the following articles:

1. Why Total Reporting of Genetic Results is a Bad Idea
2. DNA Double Take
3. Finding My Inner Neandertal
4. May We All Have The Option of Double Mastectomy
5. Should Consumers Have the Right to Buy Any Genetic Test?
6. Incidental Findings from Genome Sequencing
7. The Battle of the Prenatal Tests
8. The Grandmother and Her Genes

Prompt:

Describe and analyze the pros and cons of genetic testing by explaining whether or not personal genome sequencing is something everyone should do.

Your essay should have:
a. An introduction that includes:
            1. an introduction to the topic wherein you also re-state or address the question.
            2. thesis statement - what point are you trying to make?
b. Body - 3 paragraphs with at least 3 supporting points of your thesis statement
c. Conclusion - be sure to assess whether or not genome sequencing is something everyone should do.

Other Guidelines:
1. Don't use "I" in your writing.
2. Avoid quotes - stick to paraphrasing and use your own words to explain the evidence.
3. When referencing evidence cite in parentheses at the end of the sentence.
4. Paragraphs should have more than one article cited. Don't base an entire argument on one article.

I will be evaluating this based on your ideas, thoughts and analysis. I don't need a summary of the articles. I've read them.
